Our confidential agreement... loool

Our group consists of Me, Sarah, Gemma, Amber,,,, and Matt -_-

In our conversation, we discussed what type of newspaper we would make. There are four of us in this group, as we thought we may get more done in the time we have. We will be making a tabloid paper, as we can include a more varied amount of topics and reports, and pages. Our other option was a broadsheet, but we chose not to as a broadsheet is more political and factual, which none of us found interesting.

All of us then chose what topic we would be doing for our main pages. Mostly, we chose our likes and interests. Gemma chose to Stalk Celebrities as this her favorite hobby. Amber chose to do about Fashion, which she also knows a lot about. Matt -_- chose to do his page/pages about films and theatre coming out in our local area and reviews on the best. I have chosen to do mine about getting ready for summer- Holidays that are an every-year great, and ones that are topsy-turvey, and all about Summer. Gemma and I are also dong an extra page each about news reports like a proper newspaper, as we are worried that it may seem to turn more like a magazine.

Describe the technical skill that I have gained!!

I have gained various technical skills such as blending on photoshop. I did this by firstly looking for the blending tool. I had to try every tool on the side bar to find and test which one was the blending tool. Using the blending tool was also quite hard to do, as I had to find which colors at which point I should blend the two objects together. I have learnt a lot from this project.

Describe 2 challenges you have overcome

One challenge that I have overcome is trying to find a picture of my design. I had created the design myself, and when I looked online for picture to make up my design, I could not find any, which wasted two lessons searching to make it up, so although it was a hard decision, I finally decided that I would not have my product picture on the advert itself. I made the advert look very appealing to the target audience, though, and it included the name and company name of the product.(the perfume)

Another challenge I came across was my blending extravaganza -_-  A 'friend' (cough*gemma*cough) told me that a tool was the blending tool that I was looking for, and I used it, to find out that it as normal pain tool, which spoilt the image a little bit, and by that time, I could not reverse it. I solved this problem by just exiting the wizard and not saving the work I had done, which reversed all the other work I had done, but i just made it all again the next lesson.

DO YOU FEEL YOUR PRODUCT IS SUITABLE FOR YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE?

I think that my initial design is different than hoped, but in a positive way, as it suits the target audience more and is more neon and colorful. I think my product i suitable for my target audience as it is shown clearly it is not for adults through the colors and 'funky fun' look, but not for kids as the colors are all neon which, for teenagers, are 'in' at the moment. There are no 'boring' bits in it, which teens find boring, and the background is as a pin-up board, which teenagers make a lot of, with teenage-ish pictures like lipstick prints, the shakx shoes, and graffiti. I think it is clear that my product is made just for teenagers.

HOW HAS TECHNOLOGY HELPED YOU TURN YOUR DESIGN INTO A REAL PRODUCT?

I have used photoshop to make my product, which has been very useful technology wise, as I can use various tools such as paint without copying and pasting an image back and forth between apps. The blending tool has been especially helpful to bring two things together as one image. I have changes the lighting and some colors on the advert, and I can insert many shapes of all kinds of colors, so technology has helped me a lot.
